2012 NISSAN SERENA

Stock # 1101
$34,800
This 2012 Nissan Serena Lifecare wheelchair accessible vehicle has a rear wheelchair spot with 2 seats in the center and 2 in front. It is great value for a mobility vehicle. The wheelchair ramp and restraints are made in the Nissan factory by Nissan's engineers. Their vehicles enjoy a reputation of being reliable and functional.

About this Car

The Nissan Serena was the best-selling minivan in Japan in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and it’s easy to see why. The Serena began production in 1991 and this 2012 model is its 4th generation. Check out the photos and video above and you'll see that it has a smooth modern exterior with all the benefits of a minivan; tons of interior space but without the boxy look. The large rectangular windows give excellent lighting in the cabin and a wide view of the road for all passengers. The long rear tail lights add to the modern aesthetics giving it quite a sleek look.

There is plenty of legroom and all seats are adjustable. It has side auto step on the passenger sliding door to make embarking and disembarking particularly easy for passengers. There are cup holders and door panel storage, a glove box, center box and cup holders for everyone.

Wheelchair Features

All the wheelchair features in the Serena were engineered by Autech in collaboration with Nissan.
In Japan clients choose the accessibility feature they require and the vehicle is built which is why all our Serena's are unique.

This vehicle has a rear light weight aluminum pullout manual wheelchair ramp which is easy to use. Once the wheelchair passenger rolls in to the car and is secured by Slide 'N Click Q'Straints front and back and also the front power restraints can be used. The wheelchair postion also has both shoulder and lap seatbelts.

2007 NISSAN ELGRAND

Stock # 1090
$23,800
The quintessential family car – the Elgrand is one of the quietest and smoothest rides you will ever experience. The mobility feature is a well built and sturdy middle row passenger power transfer car seat. At the push of a button the seat turns out and beyond the car and lowers to the ground. (See the photos above). This Elgrand would suit a family member who has trouble walking or getting in or out of a car. There is also plenty of room to store a walker in the rear if needed.

With just 138,000 km on the clock this car looks and drives beautifully with a price tag that’s hard to beat (especially when you factor in the accessibility feature!) The interior is a sharp looking black with a wood grain dash. The seats are black leather with a quality material insert which correspond beautifully with the black pearl exterior.

A big plus to having a middle row passenger side transfer seat as the disability feature is that when the feature is not needed it is simply used as one of the normal car seats.

About the Nissan Elgrand

The Elgrand is a full size luxury MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle). This one has a new sporty looking front shape and chromed grille. Dubbed ‘king of the van’ in Japan these cars boast a large interior space with versatile, ultra comfortable wide seats and lots of head room. It seats 7 altogether, 2 in front, 2 in the center and 3 in the rear. The rear seats easily stow to the side if needed and there is lots of room in the rear to pack anything you may need for that road trip away.

Clients love that they can walk through from the second row to the rear. We drove one for a while and our kids nicknamed it ‘the airplane car’. There is plenty of room for kids to have their own space which (lets face it) is always a plus whether on a long drive or just a short trip up the road.

Aside from the luxury drive the Elgrand has a lot of extras; all power features, dual air conditioning, two side power doors, aluminium alloy wheels, ABS brakes, airbags, reverse camera, central locking, a cabin purifier, an adaptive front lighting system and like all our cars it has been fully complied to Australian Design Regulations. This includes servicing, new tyres, air filter, oil & brake fluids and implementing child restraints.

Overall vehicle Dimensions.

Easy to park and drive, you get all the bonuses of a spacious stylish van and you can still fit into undercover parking!

Height: 1,910 mm Length: 4,830 mm Width: 1,8150mm

Nissan Elgrand Wheelchair Feature

This left side middle row passenger transfer chair sits upon an electric arm. At the touch of a button the chair swivels left 90 degrees till it faces the door, then it moves out and beyond the perimeter of the car and lowers to just above ground level. The transfer chair has a weight limit of 100 kg.

Nissan Elgrand Engine, Economy and Reliability.

You get plenty of grip and power from the 3.5 L V6 engine and as mentioned earlier the motor is wonderfully quiet. The fuel consumption is around 14 - 15 L per 100 km around town which is pretty good considering it is a 2 tonne vehicle. On the highway they perform around 10 – 11L per 100km so clearly they were built for a road trip.

Toyota and Nissan both enjoy the reputation of being one of the finest makers of cars today and locating parts if needed is not a problem in Australia.

Warranty Options

All our quality wheelchair vehicles come standard with a 3 month 5,000km warranty. Extended warranties of 1,3 or 5 years are available upon request.

2007 TOYOTA VOXY

Stock # 1086
$26,800
The Voxy is one of our most popular wheelchair accessible cars. Clients often come looking for a small car but when they try the Voxy or Noah they are blown away by the space within the car, the ease of getting in and out of the car (especially for the wheelchair passenger) and how simple and effortless it is to drive. Clients also say they especially like the added vision they get while driving a minivan compared to a smaller sedan.

The Voxy is spacious, seating 5 plus a wheelchair person, so there’s room for everyone and everything else you may need to transport. Extremely user friendly, the rear seats are simple to lift and stow, lower and lock. This Voxy is also a 4WD that is another bonus and rare for wheelchair accessible vehicles.

About this Vehicle
This 2007 Voxy has a beautiful metallic silver finish that you will love but far and away its best feature is that it has been built with maximum use of its interior space in mind. It is a mid-size van and has seating capacity for an incredible 8 people or 5 plus a wheelchair in the rear.

This Voxy also has an extraordinary remote-controlled automated pulley system which pulls the wheelchair into the car! Check out pictures above.

With just 100,000km on the dash, a versatile and practical dark interior (easy to wipe away any spills) this car is perfect for a large family or school bus run with an especially easy to use wheelchair spot in the rear.

Wheelchair Features
This is a Japanese Toyota factory designed, engineered and installed hydraulic sloper and easy pull out aluminium ramp.

Accordingly, the fitment and quality is perfect and when activated, the rear of the car lowers (hence the name sloper). The ramp is pulled out and thus an optimal angle is created for the wheelchair person to easily navigate up the reduced incline.

This particular Voxy has a set of retractable belts that are operated by remote control. The belts are placed around the wheelchair while it is at the base of the ramp. At the touch of the remote the belts pull the wheelchair into the car. It’s pretty cool to watch and is a great example of Toyota engineer’s commitment to producing welcab features which truly help make life easier for wheelchairs passengers and their carers.

When inside the car rear Q’Straints safely and securely lock the wheelchair in place for safe motoring.

It our belief after years in the industry that local aftermarket conversions cannot match the standards, resources, vehicle knowledge, and manufacturing quality of Toyota. That’s why Toyota’s welcab vehicles are superior.

Wheelchair & Car Dimensions
Approximate Interior dimensions of the wheelchair seating position are as follows:
Height: 135cm | Length: 100cm | Width: 65cm

Overall Vehicle Dimensions:
Height: 185cm | Length: 458-462cm | Width: 169cm

It's very important that you measure the wheelchair person sitting in their wheelchair from ground level to the top of their head to ensure this vehicle is right for them.

Engine, Economy & Reliability
This Voxy has a 2L 4 Cylinder 3ZR -FAE engine. This means it has an ultra-reliable motor consuming only 14.2km/L on highway driving. These are excellent numbers in spite of the extra weight and engineering of the Toyota wheelchair modification.

Toyota engines are world renowned for their longevity and reliability which is why it’s the main brand we now stock. It is also a reason why Toyota has a long history of being the largest selling manufacturer in the world. If you’re after reliability for your wheelchair vehicle, you’re after a Toyota Welcab – it really is that simple.

In this Vellfire the rear wheelchair position has an OEM Winch where the belts can extend out of the vehicle and pull the wheelchair into the vehicle. We have installed rear Q Straints to meet Australian Design Rules and can custom fit the position of the front Q Straints so that they fit your particular wheelchair.

2006 TOYOTA ESTIMA

Stock # 847
$46,800
This 2006 Toyota Estima with very little mileage is truly one of a kind. It has so many accessibility features including; hand controls for acceleration and braking, vehicle spinner knob on the steering wheel, electric sliding doors in the middle row plus rear hatch opening and closing controls from the front dash and a middle row transfer chair. The most impressive feature is a wheelchair pod on the roof with a hoist on the driver's side that lifts up and will store a fold up manual wheelchair in the pod. In order for the driver to work the hoist there is a removable seat which attaches to the drivers seat. Check out the video above which shows all these features. Make sure you watch it to the end to see exactly how the hoist and pod work - it's pretty cool to watch!

About the Toyota Estima

This is a Toyota factory designed, engineered welcab with all kinds of features. Estima's are family cars or cars for people who prefer a vehicle which is spacious, adaptable and versatile.
It seats 7 with a transfer chair in the left middle seat and a reclining seat on the right. It has three seats in the rear which all electrically fold forward and slide back perfectly into a cavity in the boot which creates a large flat rear boot space. These rear seats can operate individually – the left single seat lowered and the right two seats remaining upright if required and vice versa.

It has stereo volume and mode controls on the steering wheel, rear parking sensors and an AFS Adaptive Front-lighting System which optimises the distribution of light from the headlights according to driving circumstances. Depending on vehicle speed and steering, the system points the low-beam headlights in the direction the driver is travelling.

Toyota Estima Accessibility Features

As mentioned above the middle left side passenger seat is a turn out transfer chair. Operated by a button on the bottom left side of the seat, it sits on an electric arm which - in one motion - turns the seat 90 degrees, extends it out and beyond the vehicle and then lowers it to a position above the ground. This seat can accommodate a passenger of up to 100 kg.

The drivers chair has a side part attachment - a small black seat affixed to a sturdy metal frame which the wheelchair passenger can pretty easily take off and put on. The passenger can then transfer and sit on the attached seat in order to help guide the wheelchair down from the roof pod or prepare the wheelchair to go up and into the pod.

A switch on the right side of the steering wheel activates the roof pod and turns it to the right 90 degrees. An aluminium automatic loading platform with a protective material lowers – this acts to help raise the wheelchair into the pod. Once this has lowered to its correct position a winch is activated to lower from inside the pod.

Once the winch has lowered it can be securely hooked around the wheel chair. Once the wheelchair is secured, a switch on the dash can be activated to raise it up towards the pod. The passenger is at the perfect position to safely aid and guide the raising of the wheelchair. Once the wheelchair is at the height of the platform it will lift the wheelchair cleanly into the pod. Please see the video above to see this process in motion.

Once the w/c is inside, the pod will then turn 90 degrees back to its original position on the roof.
Once complete the driver can push backwards onto the drivers seat, lift the seat attachment and place it inside.

Toyota Estima Engine, Economy & Reliability

The Estima is the Japanese version of the Australian Tarago. They are essentially the same vehicle. This Estima is a 3.5 Litre V6 petrol automatic. With only 7,100 km on the clock it is pretty much a new car with accessibility features that have barely been used.

As we have said many times before Toyota has a long history of being the largest selling manufacturer in the world. Their engines are world renowned for their reliability and longevity. In our opinion if the car is serviced every 10,000 km you will be able to depend on your vehicle and have trouble free driving for many years. If you’re after peace of mind and reliability for your wheelchair vehicle, then a Toyota welcab is a perfect choice. Don't let us tell you. Come try and test drive one for yourself or participate in out 'try before you buy' scheme.
