2006 NISSAN ELGRAND

Stock # 983
$16,500
The quintessential family car – the Elgrand is one of the quietest and smoothest rides you will ever experience. The accessibilty feature is a well built and sturdy front passenger power transfer car seat. At the push of a button the seat turns out and beyond the car and lowers to the ground. (See the photos above). This Elgrand would suit a family member who has trouble walking or getting in or out of a car. There is also plenty of room to store a walker in the rear if needed.

With just 125,701 km on the clock this car looks and drives beautifully with a price tag that’s hard to beat (especially when you factor in the accessibility feature!) The interior is a beige cream which contrasts beautifully with the black pearl exterior.

A big plus to having a front passenger side transfer seat as the disability feature is that when the feature is not needed it is simply used as one of the normal car seats.

About the Nissan Elgrand

The Elgrand is a full size luxury MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle). This one has a new sporty looking front shape and chromed grille. Dubbed ‘king of the van’ in Japan these cars boast a large interior space with versatile, ultra comfortable wide seats and lots of head room. It seats 8 altogether, 2 in front, 3 in the center and 3 in the rear. The rear seats easily stow to the side if needed and there is lots of room in the rear to pack anything you may need for that road trip away.

Clients love that they can walk through from the second row to the rear. We drove one for a while and our kids nicknamed it ‘the airplane car’. There is plenty of room for kids to have their own space which (lets face it) is always a plus whether on a long drive or just a short trip up the road.

Aside from the luxury drive the Elgrand has a lot of extras; all power features, dual air conditioning, a power door, aluminium alloy wheels, ABS brakes, airbags, a Kenwood stereo with reverse camera, and like all our cars it has been fully complied to Australian Design Regulations. This includes servicing, new tyres, air filter, oil & brake fluids, child restraints, catalytic converters and an English manual explaining all you need to know to take good care of your car.

Overall vehicle Dimensions.

Easy to park and drive, you get all the bonuses of a spacious stylish van and you can still fit into undercover parking!

Height: 1,920 mm Length: 4,835 mm Width: 1,795 mm

Nissan Elgrand Wheelchair Feature

The front passenger transfer chair sits upon an electric arm. At the touch of a button the chair swivels left 90 degrees till it faces the door, then it moves out and beyond the perimeter of the car and lowers to just above ground level. The transfer chair has a weight limit of 100 kg.

Nissan Elgrand Engine, Economy and Reliability.

You get plenty of grip and power from the 3.5 L V6 engine and as mentioned earlier the motor is wonderfully quiet. The fuel consumption is around 14 - 15 litres per 100 km around town which is pretty good considering it is a 2 tonne vehicle. On the highway they perform around 10 – 11 litres per 100km so clearly they were built for a road trip.

Toyota and Nissan both enjoy the reputation of being one of the finest makers of cars today and locating parts if needed is not a problem in Australia.

Warranty Options

All our quality wheelchair vehicles come standard with a 3 month 5,000km warranty. Extended warranties of 1,3 or 5 years are available upon request.

2012 TOYOTA PORTE

Stock # 976
$25,800
A metallic silver 2012 Porte with only 26,360 km on the dash is an extraordinary little vehicle which will make the world of difference to a family or a couple who have a person who struggles to get in and out of their vehicle. In our experience many couples have had their lives changed by these vehicles. They have discovered a new freedom which had been denied to them. This car is particularly wonderful because the wheelchair is super lightweight which makes pushing and maneuvering it so easy for the partner.

About This Car

The Toyota Porte has quickly become our most popular compact wheelchair access car because, according to customer feedback, clients love that they can actually travel in the front passenger seat with the driver beside them. We have also added a new Toyota Carplay stereo with reverse camera, Bluetooth and talk to text.

What’s really cool is the large sliding door on the passenger side. It makes transferring in and out of the car a breeze. Add to that the compact size, great overall visibility, ease of use and excellent economy, it’s an excellent choice if bigger isn’t always better for you. It’s the perfect size for up to 3 passengers plus the person in a wheelchair.

Wheelchair Accessible Feature

Without exception, clients are amazed the first time they witness the incredible engineering of the Toyota Porte wheelchair feature. This car has an OEM - Original Equipment Manufactured - push wheelchair fitted into the passenger seat.

The wheelchair sits on an electric rotational arm which rotates, extends out of the vehicle and lowers to the ground. The chair then detaches and the wheelchair passenger or carer can easily use the dual electric battery powered wheelchair.

When re-entering the car, the wheelchair is simply positioned onto the extended electric arm which then raises the wheelchair back into the car and turns 90 degrees to return the chair to the correct position.

Wheelchair & Car Dimensions

The powered passenger door opens to a remarkable 1165 mm tall and 1020 mm wide making it an excellent size for a wheelchair. Until we saw our first Toyota Porte we couldn’t believe how much access you genuinely get with this intelligently designed sliding door.

There is a staggering overall internal height of 1380 mm. This is due to the cleverly designed flat floor and higher roofline for the factory wheelchair access versions.

Overall Vehicle Dimensions

Height: 1720 mm
Length: 3990 mm
Width: 1690 mm

There is a very handy boot space and the rear seats can easily fold down to provide even more space if required. Perfect for a weekend away or on a shopping spree (if you are that lucky!).

Toyota Porte Engine and Economy

This Porte has a reliable 1.5 Litre 4 Cylinder 1NZ-FE engine. For the frugal ones among you this car operates at around 20.6 km/L Arguably the most fuel efficient wheelchair access car on the market today.

We’ve got the largest range of Welcab's in the country so please feel free to call us on (02) 9981 1884 or 0408 204 425 to arrange an inspection on this fantastic wheelchair car for yourself.

2015 TOYOTA VOXY

Stock # 975
$46,500
The Voxy is one of our most popular wheelchair accessible cars. Clients often come looking for a small car but when they try the Voxy or Noah they are blown away by the efficiency of useable space within the car, the ease of getting in and out of the car (especially for the wheelchair passenger) and how simple and effortless it is to drive. Clients also say they especially like the added vision they get while driving a mini van compared to a smaller sedan. We also added a new Toyota Carplay stereo that includes reverse camera and Bluetooth.

About this Vehicle
This vehicle is a 2015 metallic black Toyota Voxy with the futuristic new shape sloper with manual ramp and is in tiptop condition. With a verified 93,000 km this WELCAB is the perfect wheelchair accessible car for those not wanting a big van and it has the potential for 2 small wheelchairs or plenty of room for 1 power wheelchair or mobility scooter. The big bonus is that this is a 4WD which has been very popular with our clients.

Ask any Toyota owners or those in the industry - Toyota's vehicles are built to travel long distances - they're pretty much bullet proof. We estimate they are built to drive 500,000 to 700,000 kms which is one of the reasons why Toyota enjoy the reputation of being the largest selling car manufacturer in the world.

Wheelchair Features
This is a Japanese Toyota factory designed, engineered and installed hydraulic sloper and manual pull out aluminum ramp (take a look at the photos above). Accordingly, the fitment and quality is perfect and when activated, the rear of the car lowers (hence the name sloper). The ramp when lowered is at an optimal angle for the wheelchair person to easily navigate up and down the reduced incline.

This particular Voxy has a set of retractable belts that are operated by a switch. The belts are placed around the wheelchair while it is at the base of the ramp. At the touch of the switch the belts aid in pulling the wheelchair into the car. It’s pretty cool to watch and is a great example of Toyota engineer’s commitment to producing welcab features which truly help make life easier for wheelchair passengers and their carers. It is our belief after years in the industry that local aftermarket conversions cannot match the standard of Toyota.

Wheelchair & Car Dimensions
Approximate Interior dimensions of the wheelchair seating position are as follows:
Height: 132-135cm | Length: 100cm | Width: 80cm | Entrance: 143cm

Overall Vehicle Dimensions:
Height: 185cm | Length: 458-462cm | Width: 169cm

It's very important that you measure the wheelchair person sitting in their wheelchair from ground level to the top of their head to ensure this vehicle is right for them.

Engine, Economy & Reliability
This Voxy has a 2L 4 Cylinder 3ZR -FAE engine. This means it has an ultra-reliable motor consuming only 14.2km/L on highway driving. These are excellent numbers in spite of the extra weight and engineering of the Toyota wheelchair modification. Toyota engines are world renowned for their longevity and reliability which is why it’s the main brand we now stock. If you’re after reliability for your wheelchair vehicle, you’re after a Toyota Welcab – it really is that simple.

Warranty Options & After Sales Support

2012 TOYOTA SPADE

Stock # 964
$34,500
This 2012 Spade has a dual power electric wheelchair in the front passenger seat. It has been very well looked after and presents cleanly both inside and out. It has a metallic brown exterior and corresponding brown black interior. It has travelled just 42,842 km so drives and presents like new. This model Spade comes with all the technology you'd expect from a quality Toyota car.

About this Vehicle

The Toyota Porte and Spade have quickly become our most popular compact wheelchair access vehicles. This is mostly because clients who have difficulty getting in and out of a car can do so easily with the Spade's front passenger seat. At just a push of a button the seat extends out of the vehicle - see the explanation below as to how it works.

Because the disability feature is in the front passenger seat the client can enjoy sitting next to the driver instead of being at the back of the car which is what stereotypical wheelchair cars offer.

Also the wheelchair feature is not added onto the vehicle as an after market product. The seat was built into the vehicle at the time of manufacturing so the fitment of the seat in the vehicle is perfect for this car.

The Spade has so many great pluses; compact size, great overall visibility, ease of use and economic to run. It’s an excellent choice if you are doing a lot of local, about town driving. We've also driven it on the highway and it performs well there too so is not just an about town car. It’s the perfect size for up to 2 -3 passengers plus the person in a wheelchair.

Wheelchair Accessible Feature

Without exception, clients are amazed the first time they witness the incredible engineering of the Toyota Spade and Porte wheelchair features. As you can see in the pictures above. This car has an OEM electric powered wheelchair fitted into the passenger seat. The large sliding door on the passenger side is purpose made to allow transferring in and out of the car a breeze.

The chair is sitting on an electric arm which rotates, extends and lowers out of the vehicle. Once on the ground it detaches off the arm and the carer can either push the wheelchair or use the power battery to easily drive the wheelchair from the top rear of the wheelchair. It can operate forward and backward, fast and slow. Power can be changed to the wheelchair arm and the passenger can then operate the wheelchair from the toggle.

When re-entering the car, the wheelchair is simply positioned onto the extended electric arm which then raises the wheelchair back into the car and turns 90 degrees to return the chair to the correct position. Check out the video above to see how this works.

Wheelchair & Overall Toyota Spade Dimensions

The powered passenger door opens to 1165 mm tall and 1020 mm wide making it an excellent size for a wheelchair to enter and exit with ease. For the compact size of this car the internal height of 1380 mm is surprising. This is due to the cleverly designed flat floor and higher roof-line.

Width: 1690 mm

Toyota Spade Engine, Economy and Reliability

This Spade has a reliable 1.3 Litre 4 Cylinder 1NZ-FE engine For the frugal ones among you this car operates at around 20.6 km/L. As mentioned above they drive well in town and we have test driven them on the highway also and (no surprise being a Toyota) they perform well there too. Please don't take our word for it - come and and test drive one to see for yourself.

2014 NISSAN SERENA

Stock # 954
$39,500
This 2014 Nissan Serena Lifecare wheelchair accessible vehicle has a remote operated rear hoist and a front passenger seat power transfer seat. The dual mobility features of this van make it easier and ideal for someone that is in a wheelchair but can still transfer into the front transfer seat. This means they would transfer into the front transfer seat and have the wheelchair placed and stored in the back on the wheelchair hoist giving you 3 seats in the center and 2 in front including the front transfer seat and the wheelchair in the back. It is great value for a mobility vehicle. The wheelchair hoist and restraints are made in the Nissan factory by Nissan's engineers. Their vehicles enjoy a reputation of being reliable and functional.

About this Car

The Nissan Serena was the best-selling minivan in Japan in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and it’s easy to see why. The Serena began production in 1991 and this 2013 model is its 4th generation. Check out the photos and video above and you'll see that it has a smooth modern exterior with all the benefits of a minivan; tons of interior space but without the boxy look. The large rectangular windows give excellent lighting in the cabin and a wide view of the road for all passengers. The long rear tail lights add to the modern aesthetics giving it quite a sleek look.

There is plenty of legroom and all seats are adjustable. Electric sliding doors on each side make embarking and disembarking particularly easy for passengers. There are cup holders and door panel storage, a glove box, center box and cup holders for everyone.

Wheelchair Features

All the wheelchair features in the Serena were engineered by Autech in collaboration with Nissan.
In Japan clients choose the accessibility feature they require and the vehicle is built which is why all our Serena's are unique.

This vehicle has a rear power wheelchair hoist which is operated by corded remote. When lowered the wheelchair passenger rolls on to the platform and is secured by Q straints. The lift is both simple to use and reduces strain on a carer. The carer can choose to engage the electric lift to waist height and connect and release restraints from this position rather than from the ground. The wheelchair person has a lap sash which is connected onto the hoist platform and a shoulder strap which is put on once the w/c person is inside the vehicle.

The wheelchair hoist has a weight limit of 170 kg so this is perfect for a child in a smaller wheelchair or for someone who can transfer into the car but still needs to transport a wheelchair and the carer can easily do this without bending or lifting. There are plenty of high quality safety rails in the second row for passengers if needed. Feedback from clients is that the suspension for the wheelchair passenger is excellent because it was designed specifically with them in mind.

2008 TOYOTA VELLFIRE

Stock # 920
$32,500
This 2008 Vellfire has the 'wow' factor. It has a unique accessibility feature of a middle seat which sits on an electric arm and turns out of the vehicle, extends and lowers to the ground. Once on the ground it becomes a dual battery powered wheelchair. It can be controlled by a carer from the rear or by the wheelchair occupant with controls on the arm of the wheelchair. Take a look above at the photos and video and we're sure you will be impressed.

About this Car

The Vellfire has been described as the luxury version of the Alphard. It has a fully cream interior with leather seats and all the features you would expect from a high quality vehicle. It is a 7 seater including the middle row power chair which can be used for purpose or as a regular passenger seat. Whats most significant about the Vellfire when you first view one is the quality and luxurious look of the vehicle both inside and out. It truly is an impressive, top of the range vehicle.

The Vellfire was designed in 2008 as a variant of the Alphard. At the time of release it was described as having 'strength and strong individuality'. It has wide bucket seats in an ultra soft leather. The seats all recline and the seat behind the driver is more like a Lazi boy recliner chair than a car seat.
It has a beautiful cream interior with bold dark grey and wood grain finish on the dash and trim. The pearl white exterior adds to that luxurious feel.

The rear seats can easily lift and stow to reveal a sizeable boot area for all the luggage you'd need for that weekend away. There are storage compartments in the dash, center and doors and even a special compartment for driving glasses.

Wheelchair Accessible Feature

As mentioned above the accessibility feature is a power wheelchair in the left side second row. The seat is powered by two batteries in the rear of the chair. The batteries can be recharged with a charging unit which you can keep in your home. There are also tie down places in the rear boot designed to hold a push wheelchair to give you that flexibility if required.

The front passenger seat is a transfer chair that sits on an electric turntable that turns the chair and extends it out of the car (see pictures above). The rear of the Alphard lowers hydraulically and the ramp folds out onto the ground to allow a reduced and safe incline for the wheelchair to enter the car (Sloper). Travelled just 102,527 km, the Alphard will give you years of trouble free motoring.

Remember – these Welcabs (wheelchair vehicles) are made in the Toyota factory in Japan and built to carry wheelchair passengers so the suspension and interior accessibility fitout is exceptional. Feedback from wheelchair passengers is that they are impressed with how comfortable it is to ride inside the vehicle.

The dual option of this Alphard allows great flexibility for the wheelchair passenger. If the passenger can stand or have good upper strength they can easily transfer into the front seat while their wheelchair is safely stowed in the rear or they can sit in the rear on their wheelchair. Also it is easy to transfer down - so from wheelchair down to the passenger seat and vice versa.

It also offers a further option - if you need a wheelchair space and also have a family member that finds it difficult to get in and out of a car then this car will satisfy both needs.

About the Alphard

These cars were designed with ease of use and comfort in mind. It has exceptional handling stability and a roomy interior which lends itself well to be an ideal transport for wheelchair passengers. The bucket velour seats are wide and soft with plenty of legroom. The rear seats are incredibly simple to operate.

With full electrical component features the Alphard has all the extras you’d expect - power windows, mirrors, dual AC, a second row passenger side power door (operational from a button on the dash), interior ‘mood’ lighting (again – from a button on the dash). Toyota Carplay stereo system Reverse Camera and Bluetooth(check out all the features listed below), ultra soft quality seats and carpets.

Of all the things that are impressive about the Alphard our clients are mostly amazed by its quiet motor and handling - especially on the highway. They also tell us they enjoy sitting up above the traffic so their vision is greatly increased along with their feeling of safety for themselves and their wheelchair passenger.

Toyota Alphard Wheelchair Feature

When inside the car, Original Engineered and Manufactured (OEM) retractable belts and wire cables safely and securely lock the wheelchair in place for safe motoring. At the push of a button the belts and wire cables lock the wheelchair into a fixed position so the wheelchair is extremely safe.

We also fit International standard ‘Q-Straints’ or similar to each car to meet Australian Design Regulations (ADR’s) when required. This gives you an additional method to further secure your wheelchair for your safety. In our opinion local aftermarket conversions simply cannot match the standards, resources, vehicle knowledge, and manufacturing quality of Toyota. That’s why Toyota’s welcab vehicles are so superior.

2014 TOYOTA PORTE

Stock # 899
$34,500
This new shape white 2014 Porte has only 10,085 km on the dash so is like new. The Portes & Spades have been very popular with older couples and small families that have a loved one who needs a wheelchair and doesn't want a bigger car. It's spacious for a small hatchback with a great size boot but the most amazing part of this car is its wheelchair accessible feature (read below).

About this Vehicle

The Toyota Porte is one of our most popular compact wheelchair access vehicles because, according to customer feedback, clients love that the car has it's own OEM wheelchair/passenger seat and the client can actually travel in the front passenger seat with the driver beside them. We have also added a new Pioneer CD/DVD player that comes with reverse camera and Bluetooth.

What’s really cool is the large sliding door on the passenger side. It makes transferring in and out of the car a breeze. Add to that the compact size, great overall visibility, ease of use and excellent economy. It’s an excellent choice if you prefer a small get around town vehicle. It’s the perfect size for up to 3 passengers plus the person in a wheelchair.

Wheelchair Features

Without exception, clients are amazed the first time they witness the incredible engineering of the Toyota Porte wheelchair feature. This car has an OEM - Original Equipment Manufactured - push wheelchair fitted into the passenger seat. (Check out photos and video above).

The wheelchair sits on an electric rotational arm which rotates, extends out of the vehicle and lowers to the ground. The chair then detaches and the wheelchair passenger or carer can easily use the manual wheelchair.

When re-entering the car, the wheelchair is simply positioned onto the extended electric arm which then raises the wheelchair back into the car and turns 90 degrees to return the chair to the correct position.

Wheelchair & Car Dimensions

The powered passenger door opens to a remarkable 116.5cm tall and 102cm wide making it an excellent size for a wheelchair to enter and exit. Until we saw our first Toyota Porte, we couldn’t believe how much access you genuinely get with this intelligently designed sliding door.

There is a staggering overall internal height of 138cm. This is due to the cleverly designed flat floor and higher roofline for the factory wheelchair access versions.

Overall Vehicle Dimensions: Height: 172cm | Length: 399cm | Width: 169cm

Engine, Economy & Reliability

This Porte has a reliable 1.5 Litre 4 Cylinder 1NZ-FE engine. For the frugal ones among you this car operates at around 20.6 km/L Arguably the most fuel-efficient wheelchair access car on the market today.

We’ve got the largest range of Toyota Welcabs and Nissan Lifecare wheelchair accessible vehicles in the country so please feel free to pop down and check out this fantastic wheelchair car for yourself.
