About NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) aims to empower and support people with disabilities and their families to enhance their quality of life by being able to choose and achieve their goals.
The criteria to be a 'participant' in the NDIS includes residency requirements and being able to demonstrate a permanent disability that affects everyday life and activities. Funding for supports is determined by consideration of a person’s individual needs, goals and aspirations. Once the participant has their ‘Plan’ they can exercise choice and control over their supports from a marketplace of providers.
ICSAR and the NDIS
Here at ICSAR we are proud to be supporters of the NDIS. We are certified providers which means we can support you in helping you become more independent and integrated into your local community.
You can use your Assistive Technology funding to:
- regularly go out into community,
- have a replacement vehicle if your vehicle is in an accident,
- trial a wheelchair accessible vehicle as part of requesting vehicle modifications from the NDIS
- have a replacement vehicle if your vehicle is getting modified or
- go on a special holiday away in a bigger vehicle to carry everything you need.
You can also use your Assistive Technology funding to apply for the Vehicle Modifications. If you have Vehicle Modifications in your plan or are going into review and you are looking for a vehicle to buy this might be the best cost-effective solution for you.
If looking for a rental quote or booking, please fill out the NDIS Participant Info form below and e-mail it to us on contact@icsar.com.au. You can either fill it out on the computer or print it, complete it manually, scan it or take a picture of it and send it back to us through email.
