With full electrical component features the Alphard has all the extras you’d expect - power windows, mirrors, AC, a second-row passenger side power door (operational from a button on the dash), interior ‘mood’ lighting (again – from a button on the dash). Of all the things that are impressive about the Alphard our clients are mostly amazed by its quiet motor and handling - especially on the highway. Wheelchair Features

The Toyota Alphard is designed in factory by Toyota’s engineers. This Alphard is a 'sloper' ie; it is named after the hydraulic 'sloping' mechanism in the rear of the vehicle. As the car lowers an electric ramp unfolds at the same time. The lightweight yet strong aluminium ramp touches the ground at a 9 to 12-degree angle allowing a gentle incline for the wheelchair occupant to be loaded into the car.

We also fit International standard ‘Q-Straints’ or similar to each car to meet Australian Design Regulations (ADR’s) when required. This gives you an additional method to further secure your wheelchair for your safety.

The Toyota Estima better known as the Tarago in Australia has been one of the best selling people movers in the world for the last 30 years. This is a 2004 pearl white (photos look bright red but it is actually maroon in colour) Estima Welcab with a factory built rear wheelchair ramp and wheelchair restraints designed and engineered in the Toyota factory. This Estima has travelled a verified 49,000 km which is nothing for a Toyota.

We stock many different vehicles with different ages, km and accessibility features. An older vehicle like this with verified km under 100,000 km still represents an excellent buying opportunity if it suits your purpose. If your loved one can transfer but still needs a wheelchair to travel in the car this vehicle is low to the ground (so makes passenger transfers into and out of the vehicle simple) and you can very simply and quickly pop the wheelchair in the rear without having to lift it into the boot of your car.

This Estima comes registered with a VSCCS (Engineers certificate) for wheelchair use by a RMS appointed engineer that covers all states and territories. We can also modify this car to suit your wheelchair and lifestyle.

A big plus with these cars is the rear of Estima Welcabs lower hydraulically and the lightweight aluminium ramp lowers electrically so there is absolutely no bending or lifting for the carer. The ramps are under a meter long and the floor is flat so the ramp is incredibly simple and easy to access.

It is designed to comfortably seat 5 plus a wheelchair in the rear or 6 adults. We have seen families of 3 take out the middle row of seats so the wheelchair person feels more connected to the passengers in the front row. The space where the seats were is successfully used for storage so smaller families have also loved the Estima welcab.

The fantastic features in this car aren’t after sale wheelchair modifications - each Estima has been custom built with wheelchair users, carers, and their families in mind - right from the drawing board!

This vehicle includes a factory designed, engineered and manufactured hydraulic sloper and electronic aluminium ramp. An extra bonus is the ramp on this Estima is short – only 97 cm long and a mere 9 -11 degree angle for an extremely easy wheelchair access.

This Estima has a 2.4 L 4 Cylinder 2AZ -FE engine. This means it has an ultra-reliable motor consuming only 14.2km/L on highway driving. These are excellent numbers in spite of the extra weight and engineering of the Toyota wheelchair modification.

This 2018 4WD diesel Toyota Hiace Commuter Welcab. It has a power wheelchair hoist in the rear and is really in excellent condition. With only 69,900 km on the clock it is the perfect vehicle for anyone wanting to transport a larger group of people. It has just arrived from Japan. If you’re looking for a durable and reliable car to transport a maximum of 7 plus 2 wheelchairs then look no further. This like new Hiace Commuter would be excellent as a school bus run, community bus, aged care facility bus or it would suit a large family with wheelchair needs.

This van has been manufactured in the Toyota factory as a wheelchair accessible vehicle so the suspension for the wheelchair participant is gentle and smooth and the hoist is made to fit this particular vehicle.

All our Hiaces come with dual airbags and come with a VSCCS (Engineers certificate) for the wheelchair positions.

Safety handrails for wheelchair occupants and double seatbelts ensure passengers are looked after in the rear of the vehicle. There are also handrails for the second row seats as well as power windows A/C, airbags, central locking and child restraints.

Toyota Hiace Wheelchair Feature

The wheelchair accessible features on the Hiace were designed and engineered in the Toyota factory. It was fitted with an easy to use power operated wheelchair hoist and facilitates a simple powered entry, a smooth ride and excellent vision for the wheelchair passenger. It has a large lift capacity of 300 kg so is able to lift the heaviest wheelchairs and passengers.

Integrity have fitted ADR Compliant QRT -1 Series Q Straints to both wheelchair positions. One on the hoist and one in the interior of the vehicle. Both positions have 4 securement point Q Straints - 2 in front and 2 in the back of the wheelchair. Both positions also have lap and shoulder belts. In our opinion the standards, vehicle knowledge and manufacturing quality of Toyota Welcabs are excellent with regards to rear ramps, hoists and suspension. That coupled with the easy to use quick lock Q Straints which are fastened into the vehicles when they arrive in Australia makes for a perfect solution for Australian families and businesses looking for a cost effective transport solution.
