2017 TOYOTA SPADE

Stock # 1300
$39,800
This 2017 dual power electric wheelchair 4WD Spade really has the 'wow' factor. This is not just because of all its extra features - it is also because it has only been driven 21,000 km! Not surprisingly it presents immaculately inside and out.

With a unique deep red metallic exterior and a complimentary brown interior this like new model Spade comes with all the technology, bells and whistles you'd expect from a quality Toyota vehicle. It is a 4WD which is mind blowing considering its size. It has traction control, forward collision assistance, lane departure assistance, auto high beam and a carplay stereo system just to name a few of its amazing features.

Why the Spades have become so popular so fast

The Toyota Spade has quickly become our most popular compact wheelchair access vehicle for a number of reasons. Firstly according to customer feedback, clients can travel in the front passenger seat with the driver beside them. They feel connected with the driver rather than being chauffeured in the rear of a larger people mover - which for many are the stereotypical wheelchair vehicles on offer. Secondly our customers love driving in a wheelchair vehicle which is a small car. They love the ease with which they can drive, park and the economy of owning a small vehicle. Lastly they love that the passenger chair is also a wheelchair.

What's significantly different about these vehicles is the large sliding door on the passenger side. It was built specifically for a wheelchair to transfer in and out of the car. See the photos above and check out the video which shows exactly how the wheelchair accessibility feature works.

It’s the perfect size vehicle for up to 2 -3 passengers plus the person in a wheelchair. We recommend you come and see it for yourself or give us a call and we may be able to arrange for you to see one.

Wheelchair Accessible Feature

Without exception, clients are amazed the first time they witness the incredible engineering of the Toyota Spade wheelchair feature. As we said above it's a good idea to watch the video above.

The Spade has an OEM wheelchair fitted into the passenger seat. The chair is sitting on an electric arm which rotates and lowers out of the vehicle and then detaches. The chair is powered by a battery which is housed behind the wheelchair. The carer can easily push or drive the wheelchair from the rear. The wheelchair occupant can also drive the chair via a toggle on the arm of the wheelchair. When re-entering the car, the wheelchair is simply positioned onto the extended electric arm which then raises the wheelchair back into the car, turns 90 degrees to return the chair to the correct position.

Wheelchair & Overall Dimensions

As mentioned before this wheelchair vehicle is all about the passenger door. The powered passenger door opens to a remarkable 1165 mm tall and 1020 mm wide making it an excellent size for a wheelchair to exit and enter. Until we saw our first Spade we couldn’t believe how much access you genuinely get with this intelligently designed sliding door.

There is a staggering overall internal height of 1380 mm. This is due to the cleverly designed flat floor and higher roof-line for the factory wheelchair access versions.

Overall Vehicle Dimensions

Height: 1720 mm
Length: 3990 mm
Width: 1690 mm

Toyota Spade Engine and Economy

This Spade has a 1.5 Litre 4 Cylinder engine. For the frugal ones among you this car operates at around 20.6 km/L. Arguably the most fuel efficient wheelchair access car on the market today.

2009 TOYOTA PORTE

Stock # 1290
$29,800
This is a 2009 Toyota Porte Welcab with a battery powered transfer wheelchair with dual power controls. It has a stunning jasper pearl (light green) exterior and tasteful interior - cream beige material seats with a gold and brown fleck. A cream and grey dash completes what is quite a stylish and individual look which is synonymous with our understanding of the Porte designs.

It's a lovely little car, perfect for a couple where one has a little trouble walking but want to get out and about with their partner in the driver’s seat.

About this Vehicle
The Toyota Porte has quickly become our most popular compact wheelchair access car because, according to customer feedback, clients can actually travel in the front passenger seat with the driver beside them. They feel connected rather than being chauffeured in the rear of a larger people mover - which for many are the stereotypical wheelchair vehicles on offer.

What’s really cool is the large sliding door on the passenger side. It makes transferring in and out of the car a breeze. Add to that the compact size, great overall visibility, ease of use and excellent economy, and it's easy to see why it’s an excellent choice and bigger isn't always better.

It’s the perfect size for up to 4 passengers plus the person in a wheelchair.

Wheelchair Features
Without exception, customers are amazed the first time they witness the incredible engineering of the Toyota Porte wheelchair feature. It has a battery powered luxury wheelchair (which comes with the car). It sits on an electric arm which rotates and lowers the wheelchair out of the car.

The chair then detaches for use and the person literally can drive away. There are hand controls on both the wheelchair itself for the passenger as well as additional controls at the rear of the chair for the carer should they be required.

When re-entering the car, the wheelchair is simply positioned onto the extended electric arm which then raises the wheelchair back into the car, and turns 90 degrees to return the chair to the correct position.

The passenger wheelchair seat is especially clever and warrants further elaboration. It’s a fully autonomous power wheelchair with up to 4.5km’s travel distance on a single charge.

Wheelchair & Car Dimensions

As mentioned before this wheelchair vehicle is all about the passenger door. In case your French is a little rusty, 'Porte' is logically French for 'door'.

The powered passenger door opens to a remarkable 116.5cm tall and 102cm wide making it an excellent size for a wheelchair. Until we saw our first Toyota Porte, we couldn’t believe how much access you genuinely get with this intelligently designed sliding door.

There is a staggering overall internal height of 138cm. This is due to the cleverly designed flat floor and higher roofline for the factory wheelchair access versions. Rather than looking like an afterthought, you probably would never have noticed the higher roof because it is so well done and disguised in the overall car design.

There is a very handy boot space and the rear seat can easily fold down to provide even more space if required. Perfect for a weekend away on a shopping spree (if you're that lucky!).

It's very important that you measure the wheelchair person sitting in their wheelchair from ground level to the top of their head to ensure this vehicle is right for them.

Engine, Economy & Reliability
For the frugal ones among you, the penny pinchers, the bargain hunters, you’ll love to know that the car operates at only 8.9L/100km. Arguably the most fuel-efficient wheelchair access car on the market today.

We have the biggest range in Australia of Toyota Welcab and Nissan Lifecare wheelchair and mobility vehicles available for inspection or test drive so please feel free to pop down and check out this fantastic wheelchair car for yourself.

Not surprisingly the Hiace is one of the top 3 selling commercial vans in our market. It is a trusted choice by many Australians because they know that Toyota enjoy the reputation of building the most durable and reliable vehicles in the world today.

The Hiace has been around since the 1960s and this van is its 5th generation so it has been upgraded and improved upon through all those years. They come in short, long wheelbase, petrol and diesel with an enclosed and panelled rear or windows all around and rear window opening and closing features.

With an incredible interior space they lend themselves well to being the perfect mini bus with a wheelchair feature in the rear.

2012 TOYOTA PORTE

Stock # 1268
$37,800
If freedom to drive again is what you want then look no further than this extremely unique SELF DRIVE Porte. This extraordinary car is perfect for those wanting to get back behind the wheel feel free and independent.

Toyota factory engineers have developed this car with an OEM - Original Equipment Manufactured disability hand control driving system and driver’s power wheelchair. Please see the photos above as in this case - seeing is believing! You can use regular foot pedals also as per a standard car.

Almost as a bonus to this one of a kind self-drive car it also happens to have just 8,800 km on the clock so presents as new with a lovely sandy beach metallic exterior and beige interior.

About this Vehicle
The Toyota Porte has quickly become our most popular compact wheelchair access car. The engineering in the Porte is incredible – this self-drive - even more so.

What’s really cool is the large sliding door on the passenger side. It makes transferring in and out of the car a breeze. Add to that the compact size, great overall visibility, ease of use and excellent economy, it’s an excellent choice. It’s the perfect size for 2 passengers plus the person in a wheelchair.

Wheelchair Features
Without exception, clients are amazed the first time they witness the incredible engineering of the Toyota Porte – and this one is even more exceptional.

This car has an OEM power wheelchair fitted into the driver’s seat. At the push of a button the driver’s seat moves into the correct position which then enables it to move sideways towards the passenger door. The chair then rotates 90 degrees so that it now faces outside. The arm then lowers the chair to the ground.

The wheelchair passenger can detach from the ‘arm’ on which it sits by using the toggle on the arm of the power chair to move forward. The chair is powered by a battery source at the back of the chair. This battery enables the chair to travel an incredible 4.5km. That gives you more than enough power to head to the mall, to the beach, or as many of our clients have told us – a car like one of these has allowed them to go back to work.

When re-entering the car, the wheelchair is simply positioned onto the extended electric arm which then raises the wheelchair back into the car. turns 90 degrees to return the chair to the correct position and enable it to slide back to the drivers position again.

Overall Vehicle Dimensions Height: 172cm | Length: 399cm | Width: 169cm

There is a very handy boot space and the rear seats can easily fold down to provide even more space if required.

It's very important that you measure the wheelchair person sitting in their wheelchair from ground level to the top of their head to ensure this vehicle is right for them.

Engine, Economy & Reliability
This Porte has a reliable 1.3 Litre 4 Cylinder 2NZ-FE engine. For the frugal ones among you this car operates at around 20.6 km/L Arguably the most fuel-efficient wheelchair access car on the market today.

We’ve got the largest range of Porte’s in the country so please feel free to contact us for a inspection or test drive of this great little car.

Warranty Options & After Sales Support
All our quality wheelchair vehicles come standard with a 3 month/5,000km warranty. Extended warranties of 1, 3 or 5 years are available upon request.

2008 TOYOTA VELLFIRE

Stock # 1264
$37,800
If you want to travel comfortably and in luxury then this is the car for you. This understated yet elegant pearl white 2008 Toyota Vellfire Welcab sloper is the perfect car for someone who prefers a more luxurious looking vehicle. It was designed to have an ultra comfortable interior and classy exterior. The Vellfire has a commanding presence on the road and the best thing about them is they do not look like a wheelchair accessibility vehicle.

The Welcab (wheelchair vehicle) feature has a rear wheelchair spot with electric restraints that winch the wheelchair into the car - check out the pictures above to see the OEM Original Equipment Manufactured belts and winch systems in action. It is a full size interior which supports 2 wheelchairs with 3 seats or 7 seats when the wheelchair spot in the rear is not being used.

The passengers have not been neglected - the front passenger seat is a recliner with a foot rest so you can truly relax on those long highway trips. The driver's seat has electric memory which moves upwards, downwards, forward and back - so you can find that perfectly comfortable driving position. The rear seats stow on the sides of the rear of the vehicle if not needed or if they are required they easily lower and lock into the car floor. Take a look at the photos above which clearly show all the Vellfire features.

With full electrical component features, the Vellfire has all the extras you'd expect: power windows, mirrors, dual air con, second row dual sliding side power doors, interior 'mood' lighting, ultra soft quality seats and carpet, driver seat controls which electricaly move the seat forward.bnackwards, up and down so you can be in the perfect driving position. We can also add a new Toyota Carplay stereo system that includes Bluetooth and reverse camera. This Vellfire also has cruise control - now that is a big bonus!

Toyota Vellfire Wheelchair Feature

The rear of the Vellfire has an aluminium ramp which is operated by a corded controller positioned in a cradle in the rear left side of the vehicle. Press the controller and the ramp extends out. At the same time the rear of the vehicle hydraulically lowers to create a low gradient for the wheelchair to be able to access.

In this Vellfire the rear wheelchair position has an OEM Winch where the belts can extend out of the vehicle and pull the wheelchair into the vehicle. We have installed rear Q Straints to meet Australian Design Rules and can custom fit the position of the front Q Straints so that they fit your particular wheelchair.

Take a look at the video above to see how the wheelchair is 'winched' into position and then fastened to the floor with rear Q'Straints.

The Vellfire was designed with an amazing handling stability and a roomy interior, which means an extra comfortable ride for everyone inside especially the wheelchair passengers.

Toyota Vellfire Engine, Economy & Reliability

The Vellfire is a 3.5 L, V6 2GR-FE Automatic . The Vellfire is truly impressive and in our opinion the best there is in the wheelchair accessible vehicle (WELCAB) market.

As we have said many times before - Toyota engines are world renown for their longevity and reliability, which is why it’s the main brand we stock. It is also a reason why Toyota has a long history of being the largest selling manufacturer in the world. If you’re after reliability for your wheelchair vehicle, you’re after a Toyota Welcab – it really is that simple.

This Vellfire is located in Tasmania and if you would like anymore information please call Catherine on 0417582806 or David 0408444421.
