2009 TOYOTA PORTE

Stock # 1289
$27,800
This is a 2009 Toyota Porte Welcab with a battery powered transfer wheelchair with dual power controls. It has a stunning silver exterior and tasteful interior - cream beige material seats with a gold and brown fleck. A cream and grey dash completes what is quite a stylish and individual look which is synonymous with our understanding of the Porte designs.

It's a lovely little car, perfect for a couple where one has a little trouble walking but want to get out and about with their partner in the driver’s seat.

About this Vehicle
The Toyota Porte has quickly become our most popular compact wheelchair access car because, according to customer feedback, clients can actually travel in the front passenger seat with the driver beside them. They feel connected rather than being chauffeured in the rear of a larger people mover - which for many are the stereotypical wheelchair vehicles on offer.

What’s really cool is the large sliding door on the passenger side. It makes transferring in and out of the car a breeze. Add to that the compact size, great overall visibility, ease of use and excellent economy, and it's easy to see why it’s an excellent choice and bigger isn't always better.

It’s the perfect size for up to 4 passengers plus the person in a wheelchair.

Wheelchair Features
Without exception, customers are amazed the first time they witness the incredible engineering of the Toyota Porte wheelchair feature. It has a battery powered luxury wheelchair (which comes with the car). It sits on an electric arm which rotates and lowers the wheelchair out of the car.

The chair then detaches for use and the person literally can drive away. There are hand controls on both the wheelchair itself for the passenger as well as additional controls at the rear of the chair for the carer should they be required.

When re-entering the car, the wheelchair is simply positioned onto the extended electric arm which then raises the wheelchair back into the car, and turns 90 degrees to return the chair to the correct position.

The passenger wheelchair seat is especially clever and warrants further elaboration. It’s a fully autonomous power wheelchair with up to 4.5km’s travel distance on a single charge.

Wheelchair & Car Dimensions

As mentioned before this wheelchair vehicle is all about the passenger door. In case your French is a little rusty, 'Porte' is logically French for 'door'.

The powered passenger door opens to a remarkable 116.5cm tall and 102cm wide making it an excellent size for a wheelchair. Until we saw our first Toyota Porte, we couldn’t believe how much access you genuinely get with this intelligently designed sliding door.

There is a staggering overall internal height of 138cm. This is due to the cleverly designed flat floor and higher roofline for the factory wheelchair access versions. Rather than looking like an afterthought, you probably would never have noticed the higher roof because it is so well done and disguised in the overall car design.

There is a very handy boot space and the rear seat can easily fold down to provide even more space if required. Perfect for a weekend away on a shopping spree (if you're that lucky!).

It's very important that you measure the wheelchair person sitting in their wheelchair from ground level to the top of their head to ensure this vehicle is right for them.

Engine, Economy & Reliability
For the frugal ones among you, the penny pinchers, the bargain hunters, you’ll love to know that the car operates at only 8.9L/100km. Arguably the most fuel-efficient wheelchair access car on the market today.

We have the biggest range in Australia of Toyota Welcab and Nissan Lifecare wheelchair and mobility vehicles available for inspection or test drive so please feel free to pop down and check out this fantastic wheelchair car for yourself.

Warranty Options & After Sales Support

2005 TOYOTA VOXY

Stock # 1276
$24,800
This Voxy comes in metallic silver, seats 4-6 plus the wheelchair position in the second row. It has a newly fitted Carplay stereo which has reverse camera and tunes to your smart phone so you can choose your maps, listen to audiobooks, podcasts, itunes, connect with Siri and talk to text. This Voxy comes registered and with a VSCCS (Engineers certificate) for wheelchair use by an RMS appointed engineer that will cover all states and territories Australia wide.

With 78,000 km on the clock, as long as you service the vehicle every 10,000 km, this Toyota Welcab will bring you years of confident motoring. It is our industry opinion that investing in a Toyota vehicle means investing in the Toyota brand of reliability, longevity and excellence. You are also investing in the Toyota engineers' capability in manufacturing a wheelchair access vehicle where the suspension, rear ramp and interior fit out are first class.

About this Car

The Toyota Voxy is an incredibly popular minivan that drives more like a sedan. For first time van buyers it’s a very easy driving experience.

When you first take a look inside a Voxy what's surprising is the economy of space. There are many different seating configurations. This one seats a maximum of 6 plus a wheelchair - depending on the size of the wheelchair (please see the approximate wheelchair configurations below).

If the wheelchair is longer than 100 cm then the seating will be 4 plus the wheelchair; 2 in front, 1 beside the wheelchair and once the wheelchair is in the second row then the rear seat(s) can be lowered and another position (1-3) available in the rear.

They are a functional vehicle. Parking is easy, sliding doors on the side mean exiting and entering is safer for passengers. There are plenty of drink holders and storage. Rear seats easily stow away on the sides or drop down and lock onto the floor. Even with the rear seats down there is still a good amount of room in the boot.

Toyota Voxy Wheelchair Feature

This is a Japanese Toyota factory designed, engineered and installed hydraulic ramp and sloper. Accordingly, the fitment and quality is perfect and the ramp operates effortlessly at the touch of a button.

When activated, the ramp pulls down and the rear of the car also lowers (hence the name sloper) to create an optimal angle for the wheelchair person to easily navigate up the reduced incline.

When inside the car, Original Engineered and Manufactured (OEM) retractable belts and wire cables safely and securely lock the wheelchair in place for safe motoring. At the push of a button the belts and wire cables lock the wheelchair into a fixed position so the wheelchair is extremely safe.

We also fit International standard ‘Q-Straints’ or similar to each car to meet Australian Design Regulations (ADR’s) when required. This gives you an additional method to further secure your wheelchair for your safety and this comes with an engineering certificate.

Wheelchair Dimensions

Approximate Interior dimensions of the wheelchair seating position are as follows:
Entrance Height: 135 cm. Entrance Width: 75 cm.

Front wheelchair spot:
Height: 132 cm. Length: 100 cm. Width: 70 cm.

Rear wheelchair spot:
Height: 135 cm. Length: 100 cm. Width: 70 cm.

It's very important that you measure the wheelchair person sitting in their wheelchair from ground level to the top of their head to ensure this vehicle is right for them.

Toyota Voxy Engine, Economy & Reliability

The 2L 4 Cylinder 1AZ-FSE engine is an ultra-reliable motor consuming only 5.5L/100km on highway driving. It is a 4 speed automatic.

Toyota engines are world renowned for their longevity and reliability which is why it’s the main brand we now stock. It is also a reason why Toyota has a long history of being the largest selling manufacturer in the world. If you’re after reliability for your wheelchair vehicle, you’re after a Toyota Welcab – it's that simple.

Warranty Options & After Sales Support

All our quality wheelchair vehicles come standard with a 3 month 5,000km warranty. Extended warranties of 1,3 or 5 years are available upon request.

Our Hiaces all have driver and passenger seat airbags. We do not compromise the safety of our clients therefore we do not import accessible vehicles that do not have passenger seat airbags. There are currently accessible Hiace vehicles being sold in the Australian market that do not have this safety requirement.

Our vehicles are all purchased and imported as wheelchair accessible vehicles not commercial vehicles. Commercial vehicles are able to be purchased at a much cheaper rate in Japan and are therefore being sold at a cheaper rate in Australia.
