What’s really cool is the large sliding door on the passenger side. It makes transferring in and out of the car a breeze. Add to that the compact size, great overall visibility, ease of use and excellent economy. It’s an excellent choice if bigger isn’t always better for you. It’s the perfect size for to 2 passengers plus the person in a wheelchair.

Wheelchair Accessible Feature

Without exception, clients are amazed the first time they witness the incredible engineering of the Toyota Porte wheelchair feature. This car has an OEM - Original Equipment Manufactured - push wheelchair fitted into the passenger seat.

The wheelchair sits on an electric rotational arm which rotates, extends out of the vehicle and lowers to the ground. The chair then detaches and the wheelchair passenger or carer can easily use the manual wheelchair. The design of the wheelchair and the large aluminium wheels makes the wheelchair extremely easy for the occupant or carer to push and manoeuvre.

When re-entering the car, the wheelchair is simply positioned onto the extended electric arm. Cables hook onto the rear of the wheelchair for safety and then the arm raises the wheelchair back into the car and turns 90 degrees to return the chair to the correct position.

The powered passenger door opens to a remarkable 1165mm tall and 1020mm wide making it an excellent size for a wheelchair to enter and exit. Until we saw our first Toyota Porte we couldn’t believe how much access you genuinely get with this intelligently designed sliding door.

There is a staggering overall internal height of 138 cm. This is due to the cleverly designed flat floor and higher roofline for the factory wheelchair access versions.

A stylish pearl white 2008 Toyota Vellfire Welcab sloper in great condition inside and out and is the perfect car for somebody that doesn't want the standard looking wheelchair van because this looks more like a luxury van than a wheelchair vehicle. It was designed to have a more comfortable interior and classy exterior with more strength and individuality. This Vellfire has a rear wheelchair spot.

The Welcab (wheelchair vehicle) feature is truly top of the range with rear wheelchair spot with electric restraints that winch the wheelchair into the car - check out the pictures above to see the OEM Original Equipment Manufactured belts and winch systems in action. It is a full size interior which supports 1 wheelchair with 5 seats or 7 to 8 seats when the wheelchair spot is not being used.

If you want to travel comfortably and in luxury then this is the car for you. The passengers have not been neglected - the front seat is a recliner with a foot rest so you can truly relax on those long highway trips. The rear seats stow on the sides of the rear of the vehicle if not needed or if they are required they easily lower and lock into the car floor.
