2002 TOYOTA ESTIMA

Stock # 971
$22,800
This stand out pearl white Estima (Tarago in Australia) 2002 model has been meticulously well looked after and is in great condition with 101,750 km on the odo it's ready for it's new home. The pearl white paint matches the grey interior perfectly and at $22,800 this Welcab is on the cheaper side of wheelchair vehicles so if you have a budget look no further.

A big plus with these cars is the rear of Estima Welcabs lower hydraulically and the lightweight aluminium ramp lowers electrically so there is absolutely no bending or lifting for the carer. The ramps are under a meter long and the floor is flat so the ramp is incredibly simple and easy to access.

It is designed to comfortably seat 5 plus a wheelchair in the rear or 6 adults. We have seen families of 3 take out the middle row of seats so the wheelchair person feels more connected to the passengers in the front row. The space where the seats were is successfully used for storage so smaller families have also loved the Estima welcab.

Like all of our cars, this has not been modified to suit wheelchair accessibility needs after manufacture. Right from the start of the manufacturing process, this car has been designed, engineered, and custom built to suit wheelchair users and their families. Because it’s a high quality imported car, it comes with service records,

About This Car

This Toyota model enjoys its reputation as a spacious, versatile, and stylish family vehicle for a reason - it’s proven the test of time and continues to be a favourite for families large and small. Many buyers that visit us are looking for a wheelchair car that suits the needs of everyone.

Versatility is probably number one, with plenty of room for the wheelchair occupant, for the driver and other passengers. Comfort and ease is also a big winner, and the electronic rear ramp access makes it easy for the carer and wheelchair user to enter and exit the vehicle.

As we’ve said before, if you’re on the lookout for a safe, stylish, and versatile family vehicle it’s difficult to look past these family Toyotas.

Welcab Wheelchair Features

The fantastic features in this car aren’t after sale wheelchair modifications - each Tarago has been custom built with wheelchair users, carers, and their families in mind - right from the drawing board!

This vehicle includes a factory designed, engineered and manufactured hydraulic sloper and electronic aluminium ramp. An extra bonus is the ramp on this Estima is short – only 97 cm long and a mere 9 -11 degree angle for an extremely easy wheelchair access.

It our belief after years in the industry that local aftermarket conversions cannot match the standards, resources, vehicle knowledge, and manufacturing quality of Toyota.

This Estima has a 2L 4 Cylinder 2AZ -FE engine. This means it has an ultra-reliable motor consuming only 14.2 km/L on highway driving. These are excellent numbers in spite of the extra weight and engineering of the Toyota wheelchair modification.

We mainly stock Toyotas because they have a long history of being the largest selling manufacturer in the world. Their engines are renowned for their reliability and longevity, and the fact that these models are purpose-built for wheelchair users means that the integrity of the car hasn’t been compromised to suit wheelchair users, carers, and their families.

2006 TOYOTA ALPHARD

Stock # 962
$28,000
This Alphard is located in Moree and we are selling on consignment. It is a Alphard we sold a year ago so we know it has been well looked after. If you are looking a reliable wheelchair vehicle that doesn't look like a standard ordinary wheelchair car than look no further than this metallic gold 2006 Toyota Alphard Welcab Sloper with 97,000 km it is in excellent condition inside and out and is ready to change the lives of it's new owner. The Alphard is our most popular Welcab with rental and sales because of it's cabin height for the wheelchair passenger and how smooth of a ride it is for the wheelchair passenger because it is designed to be a wheelchair vehicle in the Toyota factory not a conversion of a van that has been cut apart and put back together to be a wheelchair vehicle.

Sloper which means the hydraulic sloping mechanism in the rear of the car lowers and a electric ramp unfolds at the same time making it easier for the wheelchair passenger to get in and out. The lightweight yet strong aluminium ramp touches the ground at a 9 to 12 degree angle which is how it got the name Sloper.

This Alphard is what we call a 7 seater. These cars were designed to be simple to use and have comfort in mind. The bucket velour seats are wide and soft with plenty of legroom. The rear seats are incredibly simple to operate.

With full electrical component features the Alphard has all the extras you’d expect - power windows, mirrors, AC, a second row passenger side power door (operational from a button on the dash), interior ‘mood’ lighting and many more, You can check out all the features listed below.

Of all the things that are impressive about the Alphard our clients are mostly amazed by its quiet motor and handling - especially on the highway. They also tell us they enjoy sitting up above the traffic so their vision is greatly increased along with their feeling of safety for themselves and their wheelchair passenger.

Toyota Alphard Wheelchair Feature

When inside the car, Original Engineered and Manufactured (OEM) retractable belts and wire cables safely and securely lock the wheelchair in place for safe motoring. At the push of a button the belts and wire cables lock the wheelchair into a fixed position so the wheelchair is extremely safe.

We also fit International standard ‘Q-Straints’ or similar to each car to meet Australian Design Regulations (ADR’s) when required. This gives you an additional method to further secure your wheelchair for your safety.

In our opinion local aftermarket conversions simply cannot match the standards, resources, vehicle knowledge, and manufacturing quality of Toyota. That’s why Toyota’s welcab vehicles are so superior.

2006 TOYOTA COASTER

Stock # 942
$65,800
This is a 5 speed manual 2006 Toyota Coaster that has been modified with a side rear Tramanco wheelchair hoist and can fit 5 wheelchairs plus 10 fixed seats including the driver. The Tramanco hoist has a weight limit of 340 kg and entrance height of 139 cm and the internal height inside the bus is 182 cm. This Coaster would be perfect for a retirement village or a community group to transfer residents to appointments or out on day trips and excursions.

The Toyota Coaster was introduced in 1969 as a 17-passenger minibus using the same running gear as the Toyota Dyna of the time. Early models used the 2.0-liter Toyota R engine with 4-speed manual transmission. With 98 PS (72 kW), an RU19 Coaster could reach a top speed of 110 km/h (68 mph). Subsequent models used a variety of four and six-cylinder diesel and petrol engines, and an option of automatic transmission was later introduced. A smaller alternative was later introduced at Toyopet Store locations, based on the Toyota ToyoAce called the Toyota HiAce which had the ability to carry up to 10 passengers but complied with Japanese Government regulations concerning exterior dimensions and engine displacement that the Coaster did not.

In August 1997, Toyota "Coaster Hybrid EV" minibus was launched, ahead of the Prius. The Coaster Hybrid, according to Toyota, became its first production hybrid vehicle. Production of the Coaster Hybrid continued until 2007.

The Coaster is common not only in Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, and Australia, but also in the developing world for minibus operators in Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. It is widely used in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, Panama, and Peru as public transportation. It is the almost the only used mini bus in public transportation in Jordan and the brand is used to refer to that segment by people and even by the government. These buses are imported mainly from Asia and had to have the steering wheel moved to the left and the passenger door to the other side.

All our quality wheelchair vehicles come standard with a 3 month 5,000km warranty. Extended warranties of 1,3 or 5 years are available upon request.

2008 TOYOTA VELLFIRE

Stock # 926
$44,800
It has been described as the luxury version of the Alphard so if you have seen and like the Alphard you'll love the Vellfire. This 2008 Toyota Vellfire Welcab is an 8 seater or 5 seater with wheelchair access in the rear. Whats most significant about the Vellfire when you first view one is the quality and luxurious look of the vehicle both inside and out. It truly is an impressive, top of the range vehicle.

About this Car

The Vellfire was designed in 2008 as a variant of the Alphard. At the time of release the Vellfire was described as having 'strength and strong individuality'. As mentioned above the first thing you notice is that the Vellfire is more impressive. It has wide bucket seats, ultra soft lush fabric, beautiful cream interior with bold dark grey and wood grain finish on the dash and trim. The exterior pearl white colour adds to that luxurious feel.

The Alphard and Vellfire are both known for their exceptional handling stability. You'll understand when you test drive one. Feedback from clients are that they are impressed with how well it drives. Wheelchair occupants also tell us they love that the suspension has been built with them in mind. It really is the perfect vehicle for highway driving.

Toyota Vellfire Wheelchair Feature

This car is what we call a Sloper which means the wheelchair access is at the back of the car and the ramp lowers by remote. As the ramp lowers the rear of the vehicle also lowers hydraulically which creates an angle of 9-11 degrees - a small incline for the w/c occupant to enter and exit the vehicle with ease.

The front belts are on a winch system and are operated by a hand held remote. The carer guides the belts out of the vehicle and onto the correct place on the wheelchair. The wheelchair can then be 'winched' into the vehicle. The rear of the vehicle is fixed to the floor with Q Straints.

This vehicle is built as a wheelchair access vehicle in the factory so as mentioned above the suspension is purpose built to carry a wheelchair occupant in the rear so no surprises that clients are impressed with how comfortable it is to ride in.

Wheelchair and Car Dimensions

Wheelchair Position is approximately:
Height 140 cm
Length 100 cm
Width 70 cm

Overall Vehicle Dimensions:
Length 484 cm
Width 183 cm
Height 190.5 cm

Toyota Vellfire Engine, Economy and Reliability

This Vellfire is a 3.5L , V6 with CVT - Continuously Variable Transmission which provides more useable power, a smoother driving experience and better fuel economy than the traditional automatic transmission. We have mentioned many times that we are believers of Toyota engines. 2012 NISSAN SERENA

Stock # 921
$23,500
This 2012 Nissan Serena Lifecare wheelchair accessible vehicle has a remote operated rear hoist with 3 seats in the center and 2 in front. It is great value for a mobility vehicle. The wheelchair hoist and restraints are made in the Nissan factory by Nissan's engineers. Their vehicles enjoy a reputation of being reliable and functional.

About this Car

The Nissan Serena was the best-selling minivan in Japan in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and it’s easy to see why. The Serena began production in 1991 and this 2012 model is its 4th generation. Check out the photos and video above and you'll see that it has a smooth modern exterior with all the benefits of a minivan; tons of interior space but without the boxy look. The large rectangular windows give excellent lighting in the cabin and a wide view of the road for all passengers. The long rear tail lights add to the modern aesthetics giving it quite a sleek look.

There is plenty of legroom and all seats are adjustable. Electric sliding doors on each side make embarking and disembarking particularly easy for passengers. There are cup holders and door panel storage, a glove box, center box and cup holders for everyone.

Wheelchair Features

All the wheelchair features in the Serena were engineered by Autech in collaboration with Nissan.
In Japan clients choose the accessibility feature they require and the vehicle is built which is why all our Serena's are unique.

This vehicle has a rear power wheelchair hoist which is operated by corded remote. When lowered the wheelchair passenger rolls on to the platform and is secured by Q straints. The lift is both simple to use and reduces strain on a carer. The carer can choose to engage the electric lift to waist height and connect and release restraints from this position rather than from the ground. The wheelchair person has a lap sash which is connected onto the hoist platform and a shoulder strap which is put on once the w/c person is inside the vehicle.

The wheelchair hoist has a weight limit of 170 kg so this is perfect for a child in a smaller wheelchair or for someone who can transfer into the car but still needs to transport a wheelchair and the carer can easily do this without bending or lifting. There are plenty of high quality safety rails in the second row for passengers if needed. Feedback from clients is that the suspension for the wheelchair passenger is excellent because it was designed specifically with them in mind.

2008 TOYOTA ALPHARD

Stock # 917
$42,800
If style, reliability and comfort is what you are looking for in a wheelchair accessible vehicle then look no further than this beautiful pearl white 2008 Toyota Alphard Welcab sloper. It's in excellent condition inside and out and is the perfect car for somebody that doesn't want the standard looking wheelchair van because this looks more like a luxury van than a wheelchair vehicle. The Alphard and Vellfire are the luxury vans of Asia. It was designed to have a more comfortable interior and classy exterior with more strength and individuality.

The Welcab (wheelchair vehicle) feature is truly top of the range with rear wheelchair spot with electric restraints that winch the wheelchair into the car - check out the video above to see the OEM Original Equipment Manufactured belts and winch systems in action. It is a full size interior which supports 1 wheelchair plus 5 seats or 7 to 8 seats when the wheelchair is not in the car.

If you want to travel comfortably and in luxury then this is the car for you. The passengers have not been neglected - the front and second row seats are large and bucket shaped. They also recline with a foot rest so you can truly relax on those long highway trips. The rear seats stow on the sides of the rear of the vehicle if not needed or if they are required they easily lower and lock into the car floor. Take a look at the photos above which clearly show all the Alphard features.

With full electrical component features, the Alphard has all the extras you'd expect: power windows, mirrors, dual AC, a second row passenger side power door, interior 'mood' lighting, ultra soft quality seats and carpet we have also added a new Toyota Carplay stereo system that includes Bluetooth and reverse camera.

Toyota Alphard Wheelchair Feature

The Alphard was designed with an amazing handling stability and a roomy interior, which means an extra comfortable ride for everyone inside especially the wheelchair passengers.

Toyota Alphard Engine, Economy & Reliability

The Alphard is a 2.4 L, 4 Cylinder Automatic which travels at 11.6 km per litre. The Alphard is truly impressive and in our opinion the best there is in the wheelchair accessible vehicle (WELCAB) market.

As we have said many times before - Toyota engines are world renown for their longevity and reliability, which is why it’s the main brand we stock. It is also a reason why Toyota has a long history of being the largest selling manufacturer in the world. If you’re after reliability for your wheelchair vehicle, you’re after a Toyota Welcab – it really is that simple.

Pricing of our factory built Japanese Toyota wheelchair and mobility vehicles is always lower than the European brands, and also lower than the locally modified vans available here. Much more research and development has been done on the factory built vehicles. As well we supply vehicles that are cheaper to run and maintain.
