2003 Toyota Noah

Stock # 886
$19,800
This 2003 Toyota Noah Welcab Sloper in navy blue has been well looked after and the overall condition of the car is excellent – inside and out. With 82,000 km this Welcab has only just started to hit its stride and will deliver years of trouble free motoring pleasure. This Noah is registered till 11/7/20 and is ready to drive away.

Toyota engines are renowned for their longevity and reliability so it’s often a smart idea to look for a van like this with slightly more km’s because it represents value and smart buying – especially with the overall excellent condition and service history.

The Noah is spacious, seating 6 plus a wheelchair or scooter position, so there’s room for everyone and everything else you may need to transport. Plus, the wheelchair spot is in the second row so the scooter or wheelchair passenger has close proximity to the driver. It has a carers seat next to it for those passengers who need constant access to their carer. Also riding in the second row gives the wheelchair/scooter passenger great vision, ample room and a comfortable ride.

Toyota Noah Wheelchair Feature

This is a Japanese Toyota factory designed, engineered and installed hydraulic ramp and sloper. Accordingly, the fitment and quality is perfect and the ramp operates effortlessly at the touch of a button.

When activated, the ramp pulls down and the rear of the car also lowers (hence the name sloper) to create an optimal angle for the wheelchair person to easily navigate up the reduced incline.

When inside the car, Original Engineered and Manufactured (OEM) retractable belts and wire cables safely and securely lock the wheelchair in place for safe motoring. At the push of a button the belts and wire cables lock the wheelchair/scooter into a fixed position so the wheelchair/scooter is extremely safe.

We also fit International standard ‘Q-Straints’ or similar to each car to meet Australian Design Regulations (ADR’s) when required. This gives you an additional method to further secure your wheelchair/scooter for your safety.

Local aftermarket conversions cannot match the standards, resources, vehicle knowledge, and manufacturing quality of Toyota. That’s why Toyota’s welcab vehicles are superior.

Wheelchair & Toyota Noah Van Dimensions

Approximate Interior dimensions of the wheelchair seating position are as follows:

Height: 132cm Length: 100cm Width: 68cm.
Overall Vehicle Dimensions: Height:
185cm Length: 458 – 462cm Width: 169cm

It"s very important that you measure the wheelchair person sitting in their wheelchair from ground level to the top of their head to ensure this vehicle is right for them.

Toyota Noah Engine, Economy & Reliability

The 2.0L 4 Cylinder 1AZ-FSE engine is an ultra-reliable motor consuming only 5.5L/100km on highway driving. These are excellent numbers in spite of the extra weight and engineering of the Toyota wheelchair modification.

2012 Toyota Porte

Stock # 870
$28,800
This 2012 "SELF DRIVE" Toyota Porte Welcab is a mobility vehicle that has hand controls for those who need them or can be driven like a regular car. This Porte has the unique feature of a wheelchair hoist in the car on the passenger side that can pick up and lower a manual wheelchair to make transferring that much easier.

About This Car

The Porte is like the Welcab version of the Toyota Yaris and has quickly become our most popular compact wheelchair access car because, according to customer feedback, clients love that they can actually travel in the front or drive themselves in a small compact car that doesn't look or feel like a wheelchair car.

What’s really cool is the large sliding door on the passenger side. It makes transferring in and out of the car a breeze. Add to that the compact size, great overall visibility, ease of use and excellent economy, it’s an excellent choice if bigger isn’t always better for you. It’s the perfect size for up to 3 passengers in the back plus the person in the driver's.

Wheelchair Accessible Feature

Wheelchair & Car Dimensions

The powered passenger door opens to a remarkable 1165mm tall and 1020mm wide making it an excellent size for a wheelchair. Until we saw our first Toyota Porte we couldn’t believe how much access you genuinely get with this intelligently designed sliding door.

There is a staggering overall internal height of 1380mm. This is due to the cleverly designed flat floor and higher roofline for the factory wheelchair access versions.

Overall Vehicle Dimensions

Height: 1720mm
Length: 3990mm
Width: 1690mm

There is a very handy boot space and the rear seats can easily fold down to provide even more space if required. Perfect for a weekend away or on a shopping spree (if you are that lucky!).

Toyota Porte Engine and Economy

2015 Toyota Voxy

Stock # 869
$41,800
This 2015 metallic dark blue Voxy with is an extraordinary little vehicle which will make the world of difference to a family or a couple who have a person who struggles to get in and out of a car or for somebody with limited walking capabilities. In our experience many couples have had their lives changed by these vehicles. They have discovered a new freedom which had been denied to them. This car is particularly wonderful because the front passenger seat is a transfer seats to help those that have trouble getting in and out of cars or for people that use walkers, scooter or wheelchairs.

For NDIS Participants looking to apply for funding for a second hand already modified vehicle this car fits within the criteria of 5 years and 80,000 km. This means that if you are going into review you can apply for vehicle modifications. If you already have vehicle modifications in your plan then we can give you paperwork and the information you need to share with your OT and get your funding approved. Give us a call and we'll help you with the process.

Ask any Toyota owners or those in the industry - Toyota's vehicles are built to travel long distances - they're pretty much bullet proof. We estimate they are built to drive 500,000 to 700,000 kms which is one of the reasons why Toyota enjoy the reputation of being the largest selling car manufacturer in the world.

The Voxy is one of our most popular wheelchair accessible cars. Clients often come looking for a small car but when they try the Voxy or Noah they are blown away by the efficiency of useable space within the car, the ease of getting in and out of the car and how simple and effortless it is to drive. Clients also say they especially like the added vision they get while driving a mini van compared to a smaller sedan.

Toyota Voxy mobility Feature

This is a Japanese Toyota factory designed, engineered and installed front passenger power transfer seat (take a look at the photos above). To do this type of modification locally would cost around $15,000 and would not be anywhere the as good as the Toyota Welcab product as this is designed in the Toyota factory to be a mobility vehicle not a car that has been modified after.

About the NV200

These specialised vans are all custom made so they have different wheelchair accessibility features. This one boasts room in the rear to fit 2 wheelchairs plus a carer and two seats in the front.

Being a van they have plenty of interior room for passengers to move within. This is absolutely a plus for a wheelchair access vehicle especially if you’re travelling and need extra room for all the bits and bobs you my need to travel with.

Our clients often say its important for them to be able to see through the windows of a car easily - these vans have excellent vision for all within. Our clients have also expressed their surprise when discovering how easy the NV200 is to drive – the joy of powered steering means the van drives like a small car but with all the added space, versatility, visibility and comfort of a larger car that’s actually not that much bigger than a sedan (check out car measurements below)

NV200 Wheelchair Accessibility Feature

The Vanette Life Care is a specialized version of NV200 Vanette with a wheelchair entrance at the rear. The Nissan engineers have created a simple and effective design where a wheelchairs can be easily and safely loaded into what is essentially a small van.

An easy to pull out lightweight aluminium ramp is lowered onto the ground.
Using the remote, retractable belts can be pulled out towards the ramp and attached to the wheelchair. The belts then aid in ‘pulling’ the wheelchair into the car. The chair is fastened in by the restraints. Once the first wheelchair is in the second can be loaded or that space used to house accessibility equipment that may be needed.

Toyota and Nissan engines are world renowned for their longevity and reliability which is why they are the main brands we now stock. As long as their car engines are well serviced they are built to travel between 500,000 to 750,000 km with ease. We’ve even seen a clients car with 1,000,000 km on the clock and the car was still going strong!
