Our Hiaces all have driver and passenger seat airbags. We do not compromise the safety of our clients therefore we do not import accessible vehicles that do not have passenger seat airbags. There are currently accessible Hiace vehicles being sold in the Australian market that do not have this safety requirement.

Our vehicles are all purchased and imported as wheelchair accessible vehicles not commercial vehicles. Commercial vehicles are able to be purchased at a much cheaper rate in Japan and are therefore being sold at a cheaper rate in Australia. Please be aware when purchasing an imported accessible vehicle that it has dual airbags, after market wheelchair restraints and an engineers certificate certifying that the vehicle is fit for wheelchair use.

This 2018 petrol Toyota Hiace Commuter Welcab seats 7 plus 2 wheelchair spots. It has a power wheelchair hoist in the rear and is really in excellent condition. This van has been manufactured in the Toyota factory as a wheelchair accessible vehicle so the leaf sprung suspension is built for a wheelchair participant and the hoist is made to fit this particular vehicle.

Toyota Hiace Wheelchair Feature

The wheelchair accessible features on the Hiace were designed and engineered in the Toyota factory. It was fitted with an easy to use power operated wheelchair hoist and facilitates a simple powered entry, a smooth ride and excellent vision for the wheelchair passenger. It has a large lift capacity of 250 kg so is able to lift the heaviest wheelchairs and passengers.

Integrity have fitted ADR Compliant QRT -1 Series Q Straints to both wheelchair positions. One on the hoist and one in the interior of the vehicle. Both positions have 4 securement point Q Straints - 2 in front and 2 in the back of the wheelchair. Both positions also have lap and shoulder belts. In our opinion the standards, vehicle knowledge and manufacturing quality of Toyota Welcabs are excellent with regards to rear ramps, hoists and suspension. Toyota Hiace Engine and Economy

This model is a 2L, 4 Cylinder 1TR – FE engine which is extremely robust. It is an automatic with 4 gears and has a maximum output of 101 kw at 5600 rpm. The estimate of km per L on highway travelling is 8-9 depending on the weight inside the vehicle.
