2012 NISSAN SERENA

Stock # 921
$23,800
This 2012 Nissan Serena Lifecare wheelchair accessible vehicle has a remote operated rear hoist with 3 seats in the center and 2 in front. It is great value for a mobility vehicle. The wheelchair hoist and restraints are made in the Nissan factory by Nissan's engineers. Their vehicles enjoy a reputation of being reliable and functional.

About this Car

The Nissan Serena was the best-selling minivan in Japan in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and it’s easy to see why. The Serena began production in 1991 and this 2012 model is its 4th generation. Check out the photos and video above and you'll see that it has a smooth modern exterior with all the benefits of a minivan; tons of interior space but without the boxy look. The large rectangular windows give excellent lighting in the cabin and a wide view of the road for all passengers. The long rear tail lights add to the modern aesthetics giving it quite a sleek look.

There is plenty of legroom and all seats are adjustable. Electric sliding doors on each side make embarking and disembarking particularly easy for passengers. There are cup holders and door panel storage, a glove box, center box and cup holders for everyone.

Wheelchair Features

All the wheelchair features in the Serena were engineered by Autech in collaboration with Nissan.
In Japan clients choose the accessibility feature they require and the vehicle is built which is why all our Serena's are unique.

This vehicle has a rear power wheelchair hoist which is operated by corded remote. When lowered the wheelchair passenger rolls on to the platform and is secured by Q straints. The lift is both simple to use and reduces strain on a carer. The carer can choose to engage the electric lift to waist height and connect and release restraints from this position rather than from the ground. The wheelchair person has a lap sash which is connected onto the hoist platform and a shoulder strap which is put on once the w/c person is inside the vehicle.

The wheelchair hoist has a weight limit of 170 kg so this is perfect for a child in a smaller wheelchair or for someone who can transfer into the car but still needs to transport a wheelchair and the carer can easily do this without bending or lifting. There are plenty of high quality safety rails in the second row for passengers if needed. Feedback from clients is that the suspension for the wheelchair passenger is excellent because it was designed specifically with them in mind.

Wheelchair Spot: Height: 130 cm | Width: 72 cm |Length: 96 cm

It's important that you measure the wheelchair person sitting in their wheelchair from ground level to the top of their head to ensure this vehicle is the right dimensions for them.

Nissan Serena Engine and Economy

This fourth generation Serena has a 2L 4 Cylinder MR20 petrol engine. The 4 Cylinder gave this model an improved acceleration and aided in helping reduce vehicle emissions. The transmission is CVT which aids in increasing fuel efficiency. It also has an eco idling stop feature and travels around 15.4 km/L.

2018 NISSAN NV200

Stock # 859
$46,900
This vehicle meets the NDIS requirements for a pre existing modified vehicle being that it is under the 80,000 kms and 5 years of age stated in the NDIS guidelines. These specialised Nissan Lifecare vans are all custom made so they have different wheelchair accessibility features. This one boasts 5 seats plus a wheelchair spot in the rear. Being a van, they have plenty of interior room for passengers to move within. This is absolutely a plus for a wheelchair access vehicle especially if you’re travelling and need extra room for all the bits and bobs you may need to travel with.

Our clients often say it’s important for them to be able to see through the windows of a car easily - these vans have excellent vision for all within. Our clients have also expressed their surprise when discovering how easy the NV200 is to drive – the joy of powered steering means the van drives like a small car but with all the added space, versatility, visibility and comfort of a larger car that’s actually not that much bigger than a sedan (check out car measurements below).

About this Vehicle

This is a sleek 2018 black Nissan NV200 with a manual pull-out ramp and rear wheelchair spot. All restraints, ramp and wheelchair features of this van made in the Nissan factory in Japan by Nissan Lifecare which is the wheelchair and mobility vehicle range similar to Toyota Welcab. It seats 5 plus the wheelchair position in the rear. With only a verified 11,000 km on the dash (we have all paperwork) this NV200 is pretty much new.

Released by Nissan in 2009 and winning International Van of the Year in 2010. This new look NV200 has so much to offer: A large and functional interior space - the grab rails and seats can be taken out and put back in fairly easily. A stunning black exterior and a stylish modern shape. (Take a look at the photos and video above). We have also fitted this van with a new stereo system that has reverse camera, Bluetooth just to list a few things.

All this value in a car for a price that is less than the price of a local aftermarket ramp – amazing but true!

Wheelchair Features

The Vanette Life Care is a specialized version of NV200 Vanette with a wheelchair entrance at the rear. The Nissan engineers have created a simple and effective design where a wheelchair can be easily and safely loaded into what is essentially a small van.

An easy to pull out lightweight aluminium ramp is lowered onto the ground. Using the remote, retractable belts can be pulled out towards the ramp and attached to the wheelchair. The belts then aid in ‘pulling’ the wheelchair into the car. The chair is fastened in by the restraints. Once the first wheelchair is in the second can be loaded or that space used to house accessibility equipment that may be needed.

Wheelchair & Car Dimensions
Approximate interior dimensions of the wheelchair seating positions are as follows:
Height: 136-140cm | Length: 110cm | Width: 70-75cm

Wheelchair Dimensions:
Height: 140cm | Length: 107cm | Width: 66cm

It's very important that you measure the wheelchair person sitting in their wheelchair from ground level to the top of their head to ensure this vehicle is right for them.

Engine, Economy & Reliability

A 1.6L 4 Cylinder HR16DE petrol engine which travels approx 14km per litre which is good value motoring.

Toyota and Nissan engines are world renowned for their longevity and reliability which is why they are the main brands we now stock. As long as their car engines are well serviced, they are built to travel to 500,000 with ease. We’ve even seen a client’s Toyota with 1,000,000km on the clock and the car was still going strong!
